Shute is one of the main characters from the Gundam spin-off, "SD Gundam." If he were blonde, he would be a young Zell. @_@ From his hair, to his oversized jeans with the black belt...Shute is the closest thing I've seen to a Zell clone.

Sion Barzahd is from another Squaresoft game called The Bouncer. ...Which I've never played. However, Nomura did the character designs for this game also, so it doesn't come as a surprise that some characters may have the same qualities as some of his previous creations.

Cid Highwind, the loud-mouthed, grumpy pilot from Final Fantasy VII. I love Cid. :) He and Zell can be hot-headed at times, often getting caught up in the moment. Aside from hairstyle and similar clothing, however, they don't share many of the same qualities. Cid comes off rougher than he is (we all know he has a soft spot for Shera), but Zell has no problem showing people he cares.
